About Us
In 2000 ARRO submitted our request for Not-For Profit status in Oregon and it was granted. In 2004 our permanent Federal nonprofit status, 93-1287227, was finalized.
Since then, we have searched for ways to improve the availability of resources for families and individuals with Autism in Oregon. Our original goal was to open the Autism Center of Oregon. This continues to be our foundational goal. We have taken many steps along the way, but always with the goal of following the research and producing resources for our families and individuals with Autism of all types and ages.
Part of ARRO's mission is to make possible projects that develop new skills through donations of supplies, tools, and equipment. Supporting individuals with Autism of all ages is a very important part of ARRO's work. We believe that for young adults, and adults seeking employment, the best way to learn new skills is to learn with the tools used in the real world. This means that we will support projects that support the families of individuals with Autism. In this regard, ARRO has made purchases of supplies and machines for others to use at the Autism Center, such as sewing machines, woodworking machines, computers, and kitchen appliances, as well as supplies like thread, paper, and food for cooking.
Many things have changed, but we remain dedicated to our Mission.
